A legend visits heroes!
The Veterans on the Spinal Cord Injury Unit at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center were treated to a special surprise on Tuesday April 5th. Of course, everyone was aware that this was Master’s Week in Augusta. There is no way of getting around that, but the last thing on the mind of these Veterans and staff was that a golf legend would take the time to come visit with them during this special week.
Jack Nicklaus and his wife, Barbara, spent time talking with Veterans signing memorabilia and just having a great time meeting and paying respect to our country’s heroes. It seemed that these special guests were just as excited to meet the Veterans as the Veterans were to meet one of golf’s most honored players.
