Miss Georgia visits Veterans at VA Hospital

February 14, 2017

Patricia Ford, current Miss Georgia, visited with Veteran patients Feb. 13 as part of National Salute to Veteran Patients Week.
Kicking off National Salute to Veteran Patients Week at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center, Patricia Ford, the current Miss Georgia, stopped by the Uptown and Downtown Divisions for a visit. The Jones Creek, Ga., native took time to visit with Veterans in the Blind Rehabilitation Unit, the Spinal Cord Injury Unit and talk to other Veterans and employees across the medical center during her day-long visit Feb. 13. The Georgia Institute of Technology graduate (with honors) posed for about 100 photos and talked about her journey as Miss Georgia. Ford has climbed the Great Wall of China four times and speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese. Ford’s visit is one of many activities planned this week for NSVP Week, overseen by VA Augusta’s Voluntary Services branch. (Photos by Chris Harper/Department of Veterans Affairs)
