Public Announcement
June 13, 2019
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) headquarters in Washington, DC proposes to locally install, operate, and maintain solar PV systems on two buildings (Buildings 95 and 110) at the Uptown campus of the Charlie Norwood VAMC at 1 Freedom Way in Augusta, Georgia. This project would also entail replacement of the boiler plant at the Uptown campus, and installation of a CHP system adjacent to Building 802 at the Downtown campus of the Charlie Norwood VAMC at 950 15th Street in Augusta, Georgia to support energy mandates and requirements outlined by existing laws, statues, and executive orders. In response to remain compliant to these energy mandates and requirements, an Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared by a VA consultant.
The EA is now available to the public for review and comment at the library on the 3rd floor of the Charlie Norwood VAMC Uptown campus main building (Building 110) and online at http://www.augusta.va.gov/documents/EA-CNVAMC-june2019.pdf for 30 days prior to final decision-making. Review comments about the EA may be directed to:
